Does this mean what I think it means? Is Sarah Paulson's new character a witch too?

American Horror Story: Apocalypse is now only hours away from returning to our lives and the hype around the season doesn't seem to be letting up.

In case you haven't seen, the first full length trailer for the long-awaited Murder House/Coven crossover was released last week and it included a TON of clues, references to past seasons and hints at what's ahead for some of our beloved characters. From the potential death of Sarah Paulson's Supreme Cordelia Goode (!!!) to the ominous behaviour of the now grown-up anti-Christ baby from Murder House, Michael Langdon, Apocalypse is set to literally blow minds.

And now, one eagle eyed fan has spotted the synopsis for the very first episode of the season on a TV guide and it might contain a huge spoiler for one of the main characters in the eighth season of the show.

The title of the first episode of the season has already been confirmed as "The End," which will show the end of the AHS world as we know it.

The synopsis for the first episode, discovered by @supremelygoode, reads: "In the aftermath of the Apocalypse, a group of survivors live together in an underground haven called Outpost Three, a refuge from the radiation fallout, where the matriarchal Coven controls its inhabitants and punished those who violate the rules."

.

A matriarchal Coven that controls its inhabitants, huh? Interesting... let's talk about that.

As far as we can see from the trailer, Sarah Paulson's new character Venable is the one in charge of Outpost Three. But Sarah Paulson's other character Cordelia is the one who is in charge of the Coven.

And as we know from Coven, Cordelia is not a violent leader and rarely, if ever, has she punished members of her own Coven. So there's no way that the Coven they're talking about in that synopsis has anything to do with The Goode Sis. Which means Venable, the one in charge of Outpost Three, must be a witch... of Satan's persuasion?

Of course, it could just be different definition of the word too. There's two different meanings to the word Coven; one being an assembly of witches and the other being "a collection of individuals with similar interests or activities," or "a secret or close-knit group of associates."

Or, the synopsis could just be misleading? Guess we'll find out on Wednesday.

AHS: Apocalypse airs on Wednesday September 12th on FX.
